Portrait Tips
Always make sure you are not exposing too much skin. Bare arms and legs can detract from your face, which is the main focus of a portrait. The exception would be young children.
If you have a certain background in mind, make sure to dress accordingly. For a black background wear darker colors, and a white background lighter colors. If we are doing the portraits outdoors, just make sure the clothing suits the enviroment we will be shooting in.
Have an idea of some poses you would like done. Think of some fun ones and some serious ones.
For babies, make sure you schedule your appointment for one of their more active times between naptime and mealtime.
A sleepy, grumpy baby will be more difficult to get a beautiful smile out of.
For children, especially young children, bring their favorite blanket, stuffed animal, and/or toy. It will help keep them comfortable and keep them occupied between set ups.
